In the wonderful Lucca countryside, among ancient olive trees and tall cypresses, looking up we see, perched on an isolated hill, an ancient medieval castle dating back to the year One Thousand. The castle was the residence and fortress of the Bishops of Lucca and is mentioned in 3 Lucca parchment documents from 1072, 1075 and 1078.
